Welcome to the new Chequers in Writtle, Chelmsford. Following a substantial refurbishment, the new owners, Bob & Christine Bennett and their children, Sarah, Katie & Rob have begun the job of making the pub into an attractive venue that has something for all the family.
 

The new menu offers a good selection of traditional meals along with an excellent Carvery for £6.50 served from 12 till 4pm on Sunday and from 12 till 2:30pm Wednesday to Friday.

The small intimate restaurant is available for hire and can seat up to 28 people or for buffet style occasions can accommodate upwards of 80 persons.
